Movie Review: Seven Pounds

>> Monday, December 22, 2008

This movie was absolutely life changing - I am not only recommending you go see it - but commanding you to! I was literally speechless for a half an hour after the movie - I literally am writing an entire entry in my journal on thoughts I have from this movie. I can't talk much about it without giving a lot away - so go find out for yourself.

Here is the trailer:

Movie Review: 007 - Quantum of Solace

>> Saturday, November 15, 2008

Last night a bunch of us got to see Bond on opening night. It was pretty sweet. Troy Polamalu of the Steelers decided to join us in the theater which was pretty cool.

I thought the movie was pretty good. I am not a Bond fanatic by any means, but the movie at least kept my attention the whole time. I don't think I'd buy it or even see it again, but it was worth seeing in the theater.

Movie Review: Fireproof

>> Tuesday, October 14, 2008

When I watched Facing the Giants... I liked the message, although I found a lot of it to be cheesy. So when I heard they made a new movie I was hesitant, but I heard a lot of great things about this movie and decided to check it out.

Now, keep in mind... I'm a sensitive guy! I liked the movie a lot. I almost cried at several points throughout the evening!

Although I am not married yet, it helped give me a realistic view of what marriage could be like...literally Heaven or Hell on earth. Yes, there were still cheesy parts that I thought "AHHH IF YOU'D JUST TAKE THAT PART OUT THIS MOVIE WOULD BE A LOT BETTER!" Other than that though...I love how bold they are about Jesus and the love of God. There is so much truth in the message of unconditional love and loving not based on feelings. I wish all married couples would watch this movie.

It was an overall great movie and I think everyone should go see it....give them a bigger budget for their next movie (Facing the Giants 2??? Just a thought haha...)

Overall grade: B

Movie Review: Bucket List

>> Friday, September 5, 2008

I know this isn't a new movie... it's been out for over a year, but I have watched it 3-4 times and love it! I love the concept of having a bucket list. I think everyone should make their own bucket list (a list of things they'd like to do before they die). It really helps with perspective on life!

Anyway... This is probably one of my top 10 movies of all time, so I would definitely recommend you see it and own it!

Movie Review: Batman The Dark Knight

>> Saturday, July 19, 2008

No Spoilers... so you may continue! I have been anticipating this movie coming out since Batman Begins two or three years ago. I ended up seeing it two times on opening day! Both times I thought it was incredible (except the 2nd time the theater's AC shut off and I was sweating bullets)

Heath Ledger should win every award possible for his role as the joker. It was one of the best characters I've ever seen! He was unbelievable.

Story was good, action was great, acting was great . . . a Must See!!!

Movie Review: Get Smart

>> Tuesday, July 15, 2008

I went to see Get Smart with some friends Sunday evening. I really enjoyed this movie... one of the funniest movies I've seen in a while. Very dry humor... the kind that only Steve Carell can pull off. I don't recall a lot from watching the original television show (this could be because I was like 3 years old). Anyway, you don't need to have a ton of knowledge of the old show to get the humor or story in this movie.

Again... great movie... you should see it!

Movie Review: Hancock

>> Thursday, July 3, 2008

Ever since I saw the trailer for this movie last fall I've wanted to see it. Honestly, it was just because of the scene with him throwing the whale into the ocean. I thought that was hilarious.

I saw this tonight with Sean, Cory, and Ryan . . . we we're all very disappointed. Horrible story line, way too much cussing, and honestly it was the first movie I've seen in a while that I had to really try to pay attention.

I would not recommend this movie to anyone. C-
